Back to Work

Last night was my first night back at work after 7 months!  It was good to be back in the classroom. I have a big, loud, enthusiastic class, and my throat is still a little sore after trying to speak over them for 2 1/2 hours.  It’s going to be a fun quarter as soon as I figure out how to log in to my computer and learn how to say my students’ names.  One of my students has 5 consonants at the beginning of his name and, unfortunately, no nickname.  Some teachers assign English nicknames to these kinds of students.  I could name him “Joe” and all of his future teachers would be grateful for the change, but I can’t bring myself to do it.

While I’m at school, Dave & Sam are home alone.  Sam’s first Daddy night was a success, though his head was bumped on things more than I would have liked.  🙂 I came home to a baby boy with a big red mark on his forehead and a giant smile on his face.  Sam likes playing with his dad!  As you can see, he doesn’t have any bruises, thankfully.

  1. She makes it sound like I was swinging him around by his legs. He fell forward from sitting while I was preparing formula and when I was changing his outfit. Yes, he had a red mark but there was a minimum of fussing. 😛
