Father’s Day

Today is Father’s Day in Thailand. Father’s Day is celebrated on the King’s birthday because the king is sometimes referred to as the father of all Thai people. People honor the king as well as their fathers on Father’s Day. Everyone wore their yellow “I love the king” shirts today. There was a ceremony at the school, but I didn’t attend. I heard that there were many ceremonies all over Thailand. Everyone lit candles at the same time.

I didn’t have to go to work today, but I did anyway. I had a lot of papers to grade because I didn’t get much work done while I was sick last week .
