Why Procrastination is a Good Thing

Dave is going to be here next week and I just made most of our hotel and flight reservations on Thursday. There was just one more reservation to make: my bus ticket to Bangkok. I was planning to take a bus to Bangkok, check into the hotel, get some sleep, and then wake up in the middle of the night to meet Dave at the airport. I thought about buying my bus ticket on Friday, but didn’t. I’m glad I procrastinated! Dave got a call from Eva Airlines on Friday telling him that his flight has been cancelled. There was some drama, but Dave got it all straightened out. He’s now scheduled to arrive in Bangkok at 11:00 am on Thursday. I’m really happy that I won’t have to take a taxi to the airport in the middle of the night. I’m also really happy that I didn’t buy my bus ticket on Friday. I wouldn’t have arrived in Bangkok in time to meet Dave at the airport! I’m not sure that Dave’s happy about the changes. He has to take an exam on Tuesday and then rush down to Phoenix for the first leg of his trip. It will be more stressful for him, but he’ll get to spend an extra 14 hours in Thailand!
