You know how kids in the United States sell trinkets and candy for school fundraisers? Well, people in Thailand sell that stuff too. The difference is that the people trying to sell you that stuff are adults wearing business suits. They come into my office all the time trying to sell me this stuff. I’ve become exceedingly annoyed. Earlier this week, a salesperson actually walked into my classroom while I was teaching and started speaking to me in Thai and giving me an order form. I gave her the most irritated look I could come up with and locked the door behind her when she left. The same woman just came into my office and tried to give me another order form. I refused to take the form. I hope she tells her colleagues that I’m rude so they’ll stop visiting my office.
